Primary amyloid myelopathy is a rare neurological disorder characterized by the accumulation of amyloid proteins in the spinal cord. This advancing condition typically manifests with progressive weakness in the limbs, often accompanied by loss of coordination. In this case report, we present a patient with primary amyloid myelopathy who presented displaying an unusual clinical scenario.

The patient's initial symptoms included marked proximal muscle weakness, along accompanied by bladder dysfunction. A lumbar puncture revealed elevated protein levels consistent with amyloid deposits. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) demonstrated characteristic lesions in the spinal cord consistent with primary amyloid myelopathy.

The patient was treated supportive care, including physical therapy and medications to manage symptoms. Despite treatment, the patient's condition continued to worsen. This case highlights the importance of considering primary amyloid myelopathy in the differential diagnosis of patients presenting with progressive neurological symptoms, particularly those with unilateral weakness.

An Uncommon Presentation of Crohn's Disease: A Case Report

We report a unique case of Crohn's disease in a 28-year-old male presenting with novel symptoms. The patient initially complained symptoms of nausea, which were misdiagnosed as a common gastrointestinaldisorder. Further investigation revealed colitis. The patient was treated with standard treatment for Crohn's disease, including anti-inflammatory medications. The response to treatment was favorable.

This case illustrates the necessity of a detailed history in patients with suspected Crohn's disease, as its presentation can be diverse.

Clinical Presentation

A male/female patient presented to the clinic with a chief complaint/history of symptoms/presenting concern of progressive shortness of breath, cough/dyspnea/respiratory distress. The patient reported a gradual/sudden/insidious onset of symptoms/complaints/manifestations, worsening over the past few months/year/decade. On physical examination, auscultation/palpation/inspection revealed decreased breath sounds in the lower/upper/bilateral lung fields.

Further/Additional/Supplementary investigations included a chest X-ray which demonstrated diffuse/patchy/interstitial opacities consistent with pulmonary fibrosis. A high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) scan of the chest confirmed the diagnosis, revealing honeycombing/fibrotic bands/reticular opacities.

The patient underwent further tests/evaluation/assessments to rule out other potential causes/contributing factors/underlying conditions of pulmonary fibrosis.
